According to the "Silver Release" of WeChat official account, on May 22nd, 2021 (the 4th), the Yellow River Shilin Mountain Marathon 100-kilometer Cross-country Race and Rural Revitalization Healthy Run were affected by sudden extreme weather, with severe weather such as hail, freezing rain and strong wind, and the temperature suddenly dropped, causing some casualties. 151 people were confirmed to be safe, of which 143 people have been transferred to safe areas and 8 injured people have been treated in hospitals; 21 people had no vital signs when they were found.

Some media reported that Zhu Keming, a local shepherd in Jingtai County, rescued six cross-country racers.
On the evening of May 24th, Zhu Keming recalled the incident through today’s headline platform. Zhu Keming said that at about 1 pm on May 22, it was suddenly windy and rainy on the mountain. While herding sheep, he hid in the cave to avoid the rain and found a player standing not far away. Then he helped him into the cave to rest, and gave him a massage. Hands and feet, make a fire to keep warm. Since then, four players have been hiding in caves to rest.

After learning that there were still fainting players on the mountain, Zhu Keming decided to go out and look for them. He said that at that time, it began to hail on the mountain. He saw three players about two kilometers away. Two of them had lost their vital signs, and the other one was kneeling on the edge of the cliff, shouting "I can’t do it, I can’t do it". Then Zhu Keming carried the player down the mountain. Because the player was physically exhausted, Zhu Keming put him on the ground, covered him with a thermal blanket, and finally cooperated with another person to take the player back to the cave to rest. Then take everyone down the mountain when the weather improves.
"The basic situation of the matter is like this. In fact, I didn’t do anything at all, but I did a very ordinary and normal thing, but there are still some people who have not been rescued. For example, the two men who have no vital signs were really neglected at that time. I am sorry." Zhu Keming said in the above.

According to The Paper’s previous report, after the marathon accident, except for Zhu Keming’s rescue of six runners, the other men, women and children in the village stayed up all night. The villagers spontaneously took the rescue team up the mountain to search and moved out their own bedding to keep the rescued people warm.
