Subverting the heroine Rulu: This role is "female version of Shi Guangrong"
The tribute drama "Pentium Times" is currently being broadcasted by Oriental TV. Recently, the leading actor and heroine David and Rulu were interviewed by the media WeChat. Among them, Rulu plays a fighting heroine. She said that although she has her own performance, the biggest difference compared with the role is that she lacks military temperament. Therefore, in order to better fit this role, Rulu cut off a long hair, and David, the leading actor, also reduced her weight to be thinner than when she was in college.

Rulu: This role is very different from Hua Fei.
Jin Brilliant, played by Rulu in the play, is the first generation locomotive builder in China, and also a fighting heroine who is dedicated to the public and has no self-interest. Such a character is particularly easy to fall into the traditional model of "Gao Daquan". Personally, Rulu thinks that he is still very suitable for the main theme drama. "Maybe it’s my image, and I’m not particularly foreign and fashionable. I feel very comfortable playing this kind of drama." She particularly emphasized that this role does not have the so-called image of Gao Daquan. She has advantages and disadvantages, loveliness and shortcomings.
Some viewers used "female Zhang Fei" to describe the new role of Rulu. Jiang Xin smiled. She thought that she was not so much a "female Zhang Fei" as a "female version of Shi Guangrong". "What impressed me most was the identity of a soldier. I always wanted to play a soldier, and I always wanted to play a uniformed one. I didn’t expect this soldier to be so cute and beautiful."
David: Losing weight is thinner than in college.
Chang Hanqing, played in David’s play, is a doctor who returned from studying abroad. For the sake of new China’s locomotive career, he went back to China without hesitation and overcome all difficulties. This role represents the first batch of engineers in New China who have worked hard all their lives for the cause of electric locomotives. David said that what impressed him most about the role was foresight, persistence in dreams and single-mindedness in feelings. "For the electric locomotive business in new China, his personal development, status and safety can be abandoned, which is very touching."
Electric locomotive engineer is a highly professional profession. In order to show Chang Hanqing’s elegant demeanour, David specially consulted real electric locomotive engineers to understand their life and work, and also consulted a lot of information about the first and second generation electric locomotive engineers in New China. He asked himself not only to memorize a large number of technical terms and foreign languages involved in the play, but also to understand the meaning. There are some professional symbols in the script, which are neither letters nor numbers. When he first saw them, he couldn’t find a way to start. Therefore, he specially consulted an expert from the Ministry of Railways to solve the problem of how to pronounce them.
He also said that he was just in his twenties. In order to be close to the people of that era, he began to implement a strict weight loss plan before joining the group. "It took about ten days to lose weight to 74 kilograms, which was even thinner than that of college."
When it comes to cooperation with Rulu, David said that the encounter between the two people in the play is "Mars hits the earth", and if the lines in the play are used as a metaphor, it is "steak with stinky tofu". He praised Rulu’s good acting skills and made special efforts: "We will monitor each other’s weight loss achievements by acting well and losing weight, and also lead the crew to set off a weight loss plan for all, insisting on eating only boiled water every day."
