  On January 7th this year, the Tesla Super Factory (Phase I) project officially started construction in Lingang, Shanghai. This is the first wholly foreign-owned project after the state introduced the policy of canceling the restriction on the foreign share ratio of new energy vehicles, and it is also the largest foreign-funded manufacturing project in Shanghai’s history.

  As of April this year, the pile foundation construction of Tesla Shanghai factory has been completed, and the steel structure construction of the factory building has begun. It is expected that the relevant engineering construction will be completed in May, the production equipment will be officially installed in the site, and some production lines will be mass-produced by the end of the year.

  Elon musk, CEO of Tesla, had predicted that the Shanghai Superfactory would produce 1,000 to 2,000 cars a week before the end of this year.
