Mineral resources are exhausted, people’s expectations for green development are rising, Huangshi has risen to transformation, and the industrial structure has changed from "black to green, high carbon to low carbon, and manufacturing to creation". Emerging industries such as electronic information, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles and biomedicine are growing at a high speed. In 2017, the energy consumption per unit of industrial output value in the city decreased by 19.5% compared with 2015; From January to May this year, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 9.1%, and investment in fixed assets increased by 11.6%, showing a good trend of high-quality development.
Advantages are better, and traditional industries are highly sophisticated.

From the production of "staple goods" to the production of "special steel", in recent years, the transformation and upgrading of Xinyegang has sprung up by "specialization, precision and specialty".
With the word "new" in its name, it is actually a century-old enterprise. Xinyegang, formerly known as Daye Iron and Steel Plant, is known as the "cradle of steel". Reform and opening up have given this old state-owned enterprise wings to take off. In 2004, through the introduction of CITIC Pacific Company in Hong Kong, the new metallurgical steel company was established through asset acquisition of the steel plate. In 2006, Xinyegang ranked among the top 500 Chinese enterprises.
In 2015, the profitability of the steel industry generally declined, while the profit rate of steel sales in Xinyegang still reached 2.99%, which was 5 percentage points higher than the industry average; Sales revenue in 2017 increased by 56.6% over the previous year. In the first quarter of this year, profits and taxes increased by 46.27% year on year.
The "contrarian growth" is attributed to the strategic transformation. In recent years, Xinyegang has invested more than 10 billion yuan in scientific and technological innovation and developed more than 200 new products every year. At the same time, through large-scale technological transformation, all the industrial waste residues of enterprises are recovered, and the remaining gas, pressure, heat and water are used to generate electricity, thus realizing zero emission.
In 2014, Huangshi was listed as a national pilot city for industrial green transformation and development. In recent years, Huangshi City has actively shut down 367 "five small" enterprises and rectified 460 key pollution source enterprises. The backward production capacity of cement, steel, smelting, electrolytic aluminum and other industries was eliminated by a total of 2,046,500 tons. Since 2017, we have vigorously promoted the "100-enterprise technical transformation project" around traditional industries such as ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals and building materials, with a planned total investment of more than 50 billion yuan. Optimize the structure and build a new blueprint for emerging industries

With the introduction of Hanlong Automobile, Huangshi achieved a "zero" breakthrough in vehicle production. With Hanlong new energy vehicles as the leader, the supporting industries such as engines, wheels, seats, skylights and new materials for lithium batteries are becoming more and more perfect.
Rebuild industrial territory and reshape industrial advantages. In 2017, Huangshi City formulated the "Three-year Action Plan for Catching Up and Developing a Strong Industrial City" to accelerate the development of six major industries, including electronic information industry, new energy automobile industry, home appliance industry, new materials industry, energy conservation and environmental protection industry and new energy industry. The unified planning of the whole city has determined that each county and city will focus on developing one or two leading industries, and the top ten industrial parks will be clearly positioned, with more efforts and misplaced development.
"Choosing to build a factory in Huangshi is based on the environmental protection infrastructure conditions in Huangshi. Before coming, the industrial wastewater treatment plant has been built in the development zone. After the initial treatment of our company’s wastewater, it can be sent to the wastewater treatment plant for centralized treatment through pipelines. At present, Huangshi City has formed eight key growth industrial clusters, such as copper smelting and deep processing, electronic information, clothing, molds, chemicals and medicines, and the industrial structure has been obviously optimized. In 2017, the added value of four emerging industries such as electronic information, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles and biomedicine increased by more than 30%, and the added value of high-tech industries increased by 25.5% compared with 2015; The profits of industries above designated size in the city reached 11.212 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 51.6%.
Port-city linkage, expanding opening up and shaping new advantages
On June 22, several large cargo ships docked at Huangshi New Port in the Yangtze River, and containers were lifted and loaded. Not far away, the train rumbled into the port full of goods. Leave the factory, get on the bus, get on the train, transfer to the dock, reach the sea through the river and sail to the ocean. Huangshi multimodal transport local railway was officially put into operation in mid-June, and Huangshi has built the second inland port area along the Yangtze River with seamless connection of hot metal and molten iron in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River after Wuhan.
Huangshi is close to Wuhan, with developed highway and railway network, 79 kilometers of golden waterway of the Yangtze River, and the water depth of the port is more than 6 meters in dry season, and 5,000-ton freighters can travel all the year round. However, in the past, location advantage has not been transformed into logistics advantage, and many large enterprises need to go to Wuhan and Jiujiang for customs declaration for export.
It is crucial to reduce the logistics cost by changing the steel city into a "port city". To create new advantages of Huangshi by opening wider to the outside world, Huangshi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government made a solemn decision.
Huangshi City develops, constructs and operates the public wharf along the 79-kilometer Yangtze River coastline under its jurisdiction, and plans Huangshi New Port according to the standard of "100 million tons of port and one million TEUs". In September 2015, Huangshi New Port was opened for operation, and the port was opened and closed in December 2016. In August 2017, direct flights between rivers and seas, direct flights by foreign ships and fixed liners in the Yangtze River branch line were opened, and railway connection was realized in September. By the end of 2017, all berths 1# to 9# of Huangshi New Port were completed, with a handling capacity of 30 million tons and 250,000 TEUs, initially forming a modern comprehensive port area integrating distribution of goods, miscellaneous parts, containers and multimodal transport.
"At present, Huangshi Xingang is applying for port qualifications such as designated ports for imported grain, designated ports for solid waste import and designated ports for imported meat." Cars and their parts in western cities enter Huangshi New Port by railway, and the goods can reach the sea through the river; The goods transported by water arrive at Huangshi New Port, and through the port-dredging railway, they can cross Eurasia and reach the hinterland of Han, New Europe directly. Expanding opening up and docking the "Belt and Road" and the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Huangshi will have a broader development space.
